DESPITE not needing roads, it’s likely that the driver of this DeLorean would have navigated the M5, M6 and M60 at least.

Doc Brown and Marty McFly were nowhere in sight when keen-eyed photographer, Darren Marsden, spotted the Back to the Future vehicle parked outside The Avenue Methodist Church in Sale, last Friday.

And it would have needed a lot of banana skins and beer in its Mr Fusion reactor to get home again – the vehicle had been driven all the way from the West Country.

“I spoke with the guy driving it,” said Darren. “He’d come from Devon all the way to Manchester in the car.

“He told me that it was for a wedding,” added Darren, noting that the driver would have had a job breaking through the required 88mph threshold for time travel.

“Interestingly, he said the maximum speed was just 90mph and that it was very uncomfortable!”

It’s the second time in recent months that the DeLorean has been spotted on the streets of Trafford.

The vehicle was seen in Altrincham Market in March as part of a Comic Relief fundraiser.

Today marks 106 days before Back to the Future day on October 21, 2015 – the day to which Marty jumps forwards through time in the movie trilogy’s second instalment.

Last Friday, July 3, marked the 30th anniversary of the film’s release.

The internet is awash with rumours that producers of the original trilogy will make an exciting announcement about the franchise on October 21.
