STRETFORD colleagues are getting out the dentist’s chair and into the saddle to raise money for a charity researching a rare, neurological condition.

Staff members at Poppies Dental Care will take part in the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride on Sunday, July 12 in aid of the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Asscociation

The charity helps people with PSP – a rare, progressive condition where brain cells become damaged over time.

It’s the latest in a series of fundraisers for PSP carried out by Poppies Dental Care.

Staff member, Janet Smith, and son, Scott, spearheaded the Ed’s Lace initiative – a shoelace with one frayed end representing the brain’s deterioration by the condition.

Scott and mum Janet championed the idea with the PSP Association after Janet’s dad, Eddie Wibberley, died aged 83 after suffering from the condition.
