URMSTON singer songwriter Roy Matthews has released a CD to raise cash for what he said is a 'special' cause - Manchester's Christie Hospital.
The four track release is called The Songs of Roy Matthews and the Wycombe Close resident said: "The Christie is quite obviously special because every family is affected by cancer... I have friends who are being treated at the Christie at the moment.
"The money raised will go to The Wibbersley and Thorne Society who are a Flixton based charity who raise money solely for the Christie and deal directly with one of the doctors there who gives them a wish list of equipment to buy."
Copies will be available to buy at The Party in the Park' on Chassen Park from August 1-2. The show features acts like Showaddywaddy, Bay City Rollers and many more. Copies may also be available on any promotional stands around the area in the coming weeks
The Songs of Roy Matthews is also available by emailing roypmatthews@aol.com. There is a minimum £3 donation to the Christie.
