AN ALTRINCHAM garden is set to bloom again after a spruce up.

Cllr Matthew Sephton and his fellow councillor Alex Williams gathered together a team of residnets to help them carry out the work on the plot at the end of Oldfield Road.

Cllr Sephton said that although Trafford Council has been cutting the grass, there has been no planting in the last year or two.

He added: "These gardens, although relatively small in size, are at a busy spot at the junction of Oldfield and Manchester Roads and get a lot of attention.

"There is no doubt that they were looking tired and I wanted to change that.

"With the help of my ward colleague, Cllr Alex Williams, we set to work, clearing the beds and planting seeds. Hopefully it should be looking bright and colourful once again soon as a result."

The team of seven took two full afternoons to complete the work.
