WILMSLOW'S Summer Reading Challenge 2015 will be launched this weekend.

The challenge at Wilmslow Library, from Saturday, July 4 is for children aged 12 and under who can sign up to take part for free, but remember to take along your library card.

The challenge is for youngsters to read any six library books over the summer and to come in after each two books and discuss them with library staff.

During the visits, children will receive free stickers and other goodies which includes 'smelly feet' stickers this year!

A date for the diary is Saturday, July 11, when the library is hoping to break the Guinness World Record for the most pledges received for a reading challenge.

To help with the pledges special guest Erik Garner of Wilmslow Football Academy will come along, between 9am and 1pm.to help the library, so make sure you come and say hello to him.

Mums, dads, carers and other family members can also pledge to support their children’s reading, so bring everyone along and let’s see if we can all become record breakers

Everyone who completes the challenge is invited to a special ceremony in September where they will receive a medal and a certificate for all their efforts.

The library also has fun events going on alongside the challenge during July and August, which are set to include a Superhero Rhymetime and Craft, a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, cartoonist Marc Jackson’s drawing workshop, a record breaker quiz and an animal handling session. Buy your tickets soon to avoid disappointment!

This year’s theme is Record Breakers and there’s a fabulous website packed full of games and blogs as well as a free App you can download.
