A TRAFFORD author will lift the lid on the abuse he and other youngsters suffered while studying at St Ambrose College in Altrincham.

David Nolan, a former pupil of the college where shamed teacher Alan Morris sexually abused schoolboys over a thirty year period, will launch his expose book: ‘Tell the Truth and Shame the Devil’.

David, 50, forfeited his right to give evidence during Morris’ Minshull Street Court trial in 2014, in order to produce a documentary about the scandal and contact former victims for the book.

The book will be officially launched on June 25, at Local Creation, Altrincham.

The author has confirmed that the book will name other former teachers who are now dead whom also perpetrated abuse.

“One thing that has come out of all this is that people have escaped jail by dint of not being alive,” explained David.

“Alan Morris wasn’t unusual at the school. It’s only the fact that he was the one that was still left alive, and he’s copped for it.

“He wasn’t the only one and we will be naming the names in the book.”

Reverend Morris, a former deacon, was imprisoned for nine years for a string of sexual abuses carried out on St Ambrose schoolboys between the 1970s and early 1990s.

The 64-year-old was found to have taken sexual pleasure from chastising young boys.

David has said tomorrow night’s event promises to be ‘one half book launch and one half mass therapy session’ and will be attended by former victims who were interviewed for the book.

David added: “With a lot of the ex pupils, a lot of them are still looking for something. I think that some thought that the answer to all the problems was found in court.

“For some of them, they have found that the answer wasn’t there, particularly for those lads where the person who abused them is now dead.

“They were looking for something and really couldn’t find it. Hopefully, in a way, seeing things in black and white, so that people know what happened.

“So many have said to me: ‘Do you remember that? It’s not me going mad is it?’ “It’s a long time ago, but people still doubt themselves. It really was that horrible.”

Tomorrow’s event has now sold out.
