HOLLYWOOD legend and James Bond star Sir Roger Moore is to talk about 70 years in showbusiness at Manchester's Opera House.

The showbusiness icon will chat to biographer Gareth Owen about his extraordinary life and career.

Featuring inside stories and exclusive anecdotes from an astonishing career that has included the hit TV series The Saint and The Persuaders, plus Hollywood blockbusters and, of course, seven iconic movies as the world’s most famous spy, 007.

There will also be a unique opportunity for members of the audience to put their questions live, to Sir Roger at the end of the show.

Sir Roger, who is also a charity champion, said: "In 2002 I stepped out onto the turf at Old Trafford to join Sir Alex

Ferguson in support of a UNICEF match between United and Boca Juniors. To witness sixty thousand supporters gather in the stands and applaud was something I'll never forget, and I'm ever hopeful the crowds at the Opera House will be similarly kind to me walking out on stage."

Gareth Owen - who has interviewed Roger previously at the BFI Southbank, the Barbican Centre and at various UNICEF fundraisers throughout Europe - will host the Evening With talks with Roger. He is an author of eleven books and has worked with Roger on his autobiography My Word Is My Bond, Bond On Bond and Roger’s latest book: Last Man Standing: Tales from Tinseltown.

Having seen Sir Roger on his last visit to Greater Manchester I have to say what a pleasure it was to spend time with a perfect gentleman and a born raconteur. An event not to be missed.
