AN Alderley Edge prep school has transformed outside play areas for pupils.

The Ryleys School has refurbished three different play spaces by installing a new climbing frame with a swing bridge, slide and crawling tunnel, in the pre-prep area

Older pupils will also benefit from the make-over which includes an obstacle course and climbing frame complete with rope ladders.

The money was raised for the play spaces by the school's social committee.

The committee, which plays a key role in the life of the school, also helps organise a number of busy activities including summer fairs, spring balls, coffee mornings and welcoming new parents to the school.

Funds raised by committee events in the past have helped the school buy computers, interactive whiteboards, digital imaging facilities and paid for the refurbishment of its swimming pool.

Headteacher Claire Hamilton said: “We are extremely grateful to our parents who have donated so generously through various fundraisers and events.

"Our parents are extremely supportive of the school and all the children and staff would like to say a huge thank you.

"The children absolutely love their new playgrounds and it’s been a delight to see them enjoy all the new equipment.”
