HANDFORTH Parish Council is set to spend £2,000 on lifesaving equipment.
The council plans to purchase defibrillators, one of which was prompted by a request from Handforth Bowling Club based at the Wagon and Horses Public House.
Parish clerk John Brooks said: "Councillors have also identified other sites, mainly in accommodation for older residents. The £2,000 will pay for two defibrillators and associated training, but over the coming years, there are likely to be further applications to the council for more of this equipment."
The decision was being discussed and decided upon at a meeting held last night.
