THINGS are really buzzing as Altrincham In Bloom's second free ‘Wild About Town’ event focuses on beekeeping today (May 28), from 6pm until 7.30pm.

The event at Art With A Heart on George Street is presented by Cliff Porter, from Liverpool Beekeepers, who will be showing the difference between types of bees, explaining how they live, why they’re so important to mankind and how honey bees produce the honey we eat.

After a 30-minute presentation, Altrincham Community Team will be providing refreshments and then inviting everyone to make inexpensive bee houses using empty tin cans, hollow canes, a bit of twine and decoration.

The event is free of charge. Seating is limited to 40 people but visitors can bring fold-up chairs if they like.

More ‘Wild About Town’ events are planned and details can be found on www.AltrinchamCommunityTeam.org.uk.
