YORKSHIRE Building Society colleagues will be brewing up en masse in an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record cream tea party in aid of Marie Curie.

The fundraising challenge will be held on June 25, across the society’s main offices to raise money for the 'Hour of Need' campaign, which aims to enable Marie Curie nurses to provide even more vital support for people living with a terminal illness and their families across the UK.

The current record for largest tea party in multiple venues stands at 536 participants and the society is hoping to have more than 650 colleagues simultaneously taking part.

The society has an agency on Ashley Road, Hale.

The society’s tea party will join others taking place across the country this June 20-29 as part of Marie Curie’s Blooming Great Tea Party fundraising.
