Broadheath
NAVIGATION Recreation Ground in Broadheath will be hosting a Big Lunch event on June 7 between 11.30am and 2.30pm, which will be preceded by one of the regular monthly litter picks.
Everyone is invited to bring a picnic and a game or ball and join in, which will celebrate the launch of the new Friends of Navi Rec group.
It’s a chance to meet other residents and show support for the park, which is used by a wide range of the community, including several football and bowls teams and many families with children at Navigation and Brentwood Schools.
Since the group was set up in January, it has successfully campaigned for the replacement of vandalised play equipment, and improved the appearance of the park with its regular, well attended litter picks.
Big Lunch events are also being held in John Leigh Park and Stamford Park, in Altrincham, on the same day.
