SUMMER is the festival season and organisers of this year's Altrincham Festival are looking for people to get involved.

They would like to hear from groups, businesses and any other organisations who would like to be a part of "the biggest free show in Trafford."

Volunteers are also needed to work at the Festival Show and Parade between 8am and 3pm on July 4.

Chairman Tony Fishwick said: "The Altrincham Festival is your festival and it provides Altrincham and Timperley with a community event for all the family to enjoy on the day. This year’s events will be the best ever and we welcome your support for the biggest free Show in Trafford”.

The Festival Parade will serve up a varied musical cocktail for spectators and participants alike - with music provided by a samba band, Breaston Highlanders Band and Sale Scout Band.

Spaces are still available from charities, businesses and car dealers who would like to exhibit on the festival showground, which is open on July 4 from 10.30am to 5pm.

Entry forms are available from tonyfishwick@ntlworld.com.

Attractions planned for the showground include Reel Time High Fall Stunt Show, Birds of Prey Flying Display, Punch and Judy Show, a music stage and a fun train.

Other attractions at the showground include a dance display by JanNik Dance and the Fun Dog Show. There will also be hot food, including Indian cuisine.

Indoor musical attractions include Colin Paul at the Cresta Court Hotel on July 17 and anyone interested in finding out more should call Tony on 0161 980 3223.
