WARRINGTON Guardian’s website has tonight won a prestigious media award.

Our site – www.warringtonguardian.co.uk - has attracted visitors at a phenomenal rate over the last year, together with our social media pages and this success has now been recognised with a Prolific North Award for best news publication.

Editor Hayley Smith and Web Editor Catherine Lawler picked up the award at this evening’s event, which was attended by more than 750 media professionals at The Point, Old Trafford.

"We have a dedicated team of journalists who have a shared passion for reporting the latest Warrington news and sport as it happens, so it is fantastic to be recognised in this way," said Hayley (pictured below)
