A SELFLESS young rugby player is getting his running shoes on for charity in honour of his coach at Sale FC this May.
Ollie Degman, 11, will run the Morrison’s Mini Great Manchester Run in Heaton Park to raise money for the Alex Hulme Foundation.
The Foundation was set up after Alex Hulme, son of Ollie’s coach Dave Hulme, passed away to a form of cancer called Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in 2011.
When Ollie found out he could help he jumped at the opportunity, despite not being a regular runner.
Ollie’s mother, Jenn Caldwell, of Chepstow Avenue, said: “I thought that was a nice little thing for him to do off his own back, because he doesn’t attend any running classes or any running clubs.”
