A SALE GP surgery has received a resounding thumbs up from health inspectors.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) found the quality of care provided by the Boundary House Medical Centre to be 'outstanding', following an inspection carried out in January.

The CQC rated the Northenden Road practice as 'outstanding' for providing responsive and well-led services, and 'good' for providing services that are safe, caring and effective.

This gave the practice its overall outstanding rating.

Dr Paul Gray said "Given the huge pressure that General Practice is under, we are delighted with the outcome of this report.

"It is a testament to the hard work and commitment of all the team at Boundary House, both past and present.

"The report clearly recognises all the time and resources that we have invested over the years into providing high quality healthcare for all our patients."

Sue McMillan, deputy chief inspector of general practice in the north, said: “It is clear Boundary House Medical Centre is providing a well led and highly responsive service which is a real asset to the people living in this part of Trafford.

“I was particularly impressed with the practice’s proactive work to initiate positive service improvements for patients.

"We found that staff demonstrated a sound understanding of the differing needs of their patients and acted on these needs in the planning and delivery of its services

“The GPs and staff at Boundary House Medical Centre have demonstrated a real commitment to their patients.

“All of this hard work and dedication pays off in making a real difference for their patients – which is why we have found this practice to be outstanding.”
