A TIMPERLEY woman who was mocked by an air stewardess while aboard a Thomson Airways flight is jetting off on a free holiday at the airline’s expense.

Thomson has publicly apologised to X Factor sensation, Hazel Jackson, after a flight attendant branded her a ‘barking mad nutter’ in a derogatory message on the Thomson Airways MAN Info Group Facebook page.

The airline has now reimbursed all costs associated with the 74-year-old’s holiday and offered her a free vacation as a gesture of goodwill.

“It’s a good result. It’s fantastic. I’ve booked already,” said Hazel, who racked up hundreds of thousands of Youtube hits following her racy ‘Simply the Best’ rendition in front of Simon Cowell et al.

“I’m quite satisfied. It was a surprise; very unexpected.

“I went straight to the travel agent and got it booked. I’m going back to Gran Canaria.

“I’m going all inclusive this time, for ten days.”

Hazel’s now hoping for a happier time in the Canaries following her ill-fated January excursion, during which missed the plane on the way there and back.

A spokesman for Thomson Airways said: “Thomson Airways would like to apologise to Mrs Jackson for any embarrassment experienced as a result of the comments made on a private Facebook page by one of our cabin crew members.

“The Facebook post was immediately removed, and the member of staff involved has been dealt with accordingly. We have spoken with Mrs Jackson and apologised personally to her.

“She has accepted a refund of all costs associated with this holiday and in addition, the offer of another holiday as a gesture of goodwill.

“We would like to reassure customers that the comments on Facebook were not made on behalf of the airline and in no way do we endorse them.”
