SCHOOL and college leavers can find out more about what's on offer at Trafford Council's Apprenticeship Fair - which is returning to the borough for a sixth successive year.

The event will take place at the Sale Waterside Arts Centre on February 12 from 1pm to 7pm.

This 'no appointment necessary' event is open to all school, colleges and sixth form leavers and their parents and their carers.

A host of training providers and employers, as well as council staff will be available on the day, to provide information and advice available for those interested in apprenticeships and higher apprenticeships as an alternative to full time study.

At the fair, young people will be able to speak directly to careers advisers, training providers and employers who can positively influence their future career choices and aspirations.

Executive Member for Children’s Services, Councillor Michael Cornes said. “This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to find out more about becoming an apprentice and the benefits involved. The event will let them know about the career choices open to them and give them the opportunity to speak to employers and get a glimpse of the world of work. I would urge all local colleges and schools to come along and get involved.”
