INTREPID Hale cyclists will ride 500 Kilometres through rolling hills and soaring temperatures during a fundraising Indo China adventure.

Sarah Bunniss, Lisa Reid and Becky Thompson will be in the saddle for eight days as they peddle their way from Vietnam to Cambodia.

The trio have already raised more than £9,000 for The Christie, and want Messenger readers to push their jungle jaunt through the 10k barrier.

Departing on February 7, the Discover Adventure challenge will take them from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, through the rice paddies and waterways of the Mekong Delta into Cambodia.

Heading towards the Royal Temples of Angkor Wat, the cyclists will be challenged by the remote terrain and rolling countryside.

“We’ve been training by cycling out to Jodrell Bank and doing spinning classes at the gym,” explained Sarah, 50.

“It’s going to be a daunting challenge. There is only two weeks to go now and we’re feeling quite excited to get out there.”

All three are raising money in memory of loved ones who had cancer – Sarah for her parents, Don and Julie Adams, while Lisa, 47 and Becky, 42, are riding in memory of family friends.

Money they raise will be donated to The Christie NHS Foundation Trust – the largest single site cancer centre in Europe, treating more than 40,000 people each year.
