A NEW £750,000 community sports hall will show off its planned activities during an open day this weekend.

According to its general manager Stacey Rowley, the new hall is one of the most significant development's in the club's 111 year history.

The building will cater for a wide variety of sports and activities including after-school clubs, yoga, senior aerobics, boxing, tumbletots, scouts, karate, baby massage and slimming world.

Stacey said: "For the past 18 months there has been a wide range of fundraising activities, including sportsman's dinners, a supporters club initiative, as well as commercial sponsorship and fan donations, all of which have helped the project become a fantastic reality."

The open day on Sunday from 11am to 3pm, is designed to show off the facilities to the people of Altrincham and surrounding areas.

Groups that have already committed for the new year are karate, tumbletots, slimming, Timperley ABC Boxing, scouts and cubs, fitness classes, after school clubs and AFC Mini Kickers Football.

She explained: "Each group which will be at the hall next year will be here on Sunday to answer questions and take bookings for 2015.

"There is also availability for further bookings and the hall can also be hired for parties, social events, meetings and training events."

She added: “We are looking forward to the open day to show the local community the new facilities that we are so proud of.

"We want to encourage everyone to support this event and sign up to the fantastic classes and groups that will be resident on a weekly basis.

Although we already have a varied timetable on offer, we still have time slots available and would love to hear from anyone who wants to be involved in this new, exciting venture."
