A TIMPERLEY youngster has beaten thousands of children to win herself a place in a school competition final.

Grace Hayward, aged 5, a pupil at Forest School from has reached the final of the MY Sticker Competition.

Children from schools across the country who entered the competition were expected to design a sticker, which they believed highlighted the issues they cared about, whether it be a local cause, campaign or issue that they felt passionately about.

Grace, who has been doing karate lessons in her spare time since January designed a ‘karate fit kid’, which could subsequently be used by her instructor to reward her and her classmates.

Grace said, “I’m so excited that I am a finalist in this competition. I love my karate and can’t wait to tell my instructor and show my class the stickers.”

Neil Hodges, managing director of School Stickers, “We had entries from across the country into this competition and were very impressed by the quality of the designs. Grace’s design was chosen as a finalist as the judges really liked her strong design and use of bright colours."
