ST Antony's Catholic College in Urmston is enjoying a facelift thanks to a joint partnership between Trafford Council and Salford Diocese.
The £120,000 grant for replacement windows and roofs is part of a continuing modernisation programme at the rapidly improving Urmston school.
Associate headteacher Fiona Wright, who since her secondment from Loreto Grammar School in Altrincham has been developing a new 'can do' culture, said: “We are continuing with our ambitious plans to ensure St Antony’s has buildings that are fit for 21st Century schooling. This next phase in the on-going development of the school demonstrates its leaders’ commitment to whole school improvement and vision of a bright future for St Antony’s.”
She added: “Since my appointment just eight months ago, I have been deeply moved by the support of the community. We have some wonderful children at St. Antony's, so many hugely supportive families and a fine teaching team and together are building a much improved school. It is great news for all our partners that we have had such strong backing from both the local authority and our diocese.”
A spokesperson for Trafford Council said: “Trafford Council is committed to supporting St Antony’s College to further enhance the school’s offer to young people in the borough."
