A NEW exhibition celebrating Altrincham through the decades has opened at the Cresta Court Hotel.
The exhibition is the latest in a series of collections on display at the hotel as part of its 40th anniversary year.
The the collection comprises a selection of photographs by 83-year-old Norman Spilsbury, who has been using photography to document the changing face of the town over the past 40 years.
Paul Hindley, general manager, said: “It really is astounding to see the changes in our town documented in this way.
"Norman’s pictures capture perfectly some of the biggest changes Altrincham has seen, ones that have transformed the town completely.
"We really are delighted to be able to exhibit the collection in the hotel.”
Norman added: "The photographs I take are of places and buildings that have historical value, but are in danger of being lost.
"I use my camera as a means of preserving them, so even after the building has gone, the memory and record of them remain."
