Lauren Barclay
LAUREN Barclay, a Year 12 student at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls, recently took part in a rowing event to raise money for new boats for her rowing club, Agecroft Rowing Club.
The teenager took on the challenge to row from Lincoln to Boston - 52 km or just over 30 miles - in a single day.
With only a week’s worth of training for this, Lauren managed to complete the challenge in just six hours – what a fantastic achievement! Lauren has also received a Blue Peter badge for her efforts in training up the presenters for rowing at Henley.
Agecroft Rowing Club is based in Salford Quays.
