URMSTON actress Danielle Hope has landed another iconic stage role - Narrator in Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

She will play the part in her home city of Manchester next month, when the production comes to the Palace Theatre.

Danielle first found fame when she beat of competition from 9,000 other hopefuls to win the TV talent show Over The Rainbow.

This success saw her play the role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz on the West End stage, a role immortalised on the silver screen by Hollywood great Judy Garland.

She will be joined in Manchester by X Factor finalist Lloyd Daniels in the role of Joseph. He recently completed a 56 date X Factor tour and released the popular single Suburban Girl.

A former student of Knutsford Academy, Danielle has enjoyed a hugely successful year as Eponine in Les Misérables.

Speaking after her Over The Rainbow triumph, Danielle said: "Other shows I'd love to do in the future are Phantom Of The Opera, My Fair Lady and Mary Poppins."

Other actors to hail from Urmston include Coronation Street star Eileen Derbyshire, Matthew Kelly and Lynda Barron, who played long suffering Nurse Gladys in the BBC sitcom Open All Hours.

Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat features a string of foot tapping hits like Jacob and Sons, Close Every Door and Any Dream Will Do.

Having attracted sensational reviews and standing ovations since its inception almost 35 years ago, Bill Kenwright’s production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s sparkling family musical has sold an estimated 15 million tickets.
