THE onset of autumn is a time to get creative in an artistic sense in Altrincham.

To that end, new art classes at Space for Creation, at Local Creation, Central Way, are starting up by mid-September.

Space for Creation, is a newly formed not for profit company, but has been providing the classes at Local Creation for some time. This year, the classes have been expanded to include life drawing, painting, creative arts, extreme stitch, stitch, ceramics, photography and web design classes during the day and in the evening.

For the under 16's there are also junior and senior classes on games design.

Space for Creation's Jo Cushing said: "The centre is where you go to be creative. It gives people of all abilities, an opportunity to develop personally, increase confidence and gain a sensibility about the arts.

"It is also a place to meet, share ideas, learn, be inspired, create and exhibit your work in a fully inclusive socially creative environment."

The classes are taught by professional artists who are the best in their field. They have a passion for their subject and want to share that with others. Classes are small and relaxed, beginners are welcome."

One of the artistsRachel Nettles, teaches the extreme stitch class. Her work includes embroidered vegetables that she exhibits in Manchester Craft Centre.

Jo add: "Rachel's work is beautifully crafted using radical textile methods. In her class she inspires her students with both her knowledge and techniques to confidently create their own personal works of art."
