A SALE-based firm which streamlines the compensation process for airline passengers experiencing flight delays or cancelled trips has hit the ground running.

Just six weeks since the company, Airline Compensation, was established, it is handling more than £40,000 worth of compensation claims..

EU legislation dictates that airlines must compensate passengers for delays of three hours or more.

Airline Compensation founders, Jamie Munro and Marcus Metcalfe launched the company from a springboard of in-depth experience in the personal claims sector.

Early success stories for the firm include a stag weekend group of 15 passengers, who’ve already been awarded £6,000 compensation for a five hour delay flying from Manchester to Lisbon.

Mr Munro said: ‘’We were prompted to launch the firm following the recent EU ruling in passengers favour that opened the floodgates for airline compensation claims.

"We’ve been met with a hugely positive response from passengers, many of whom have tried to claim compensation from the airlines themselves, only to be met with delaying tactics, insultingly low offers of compensation and in some cases just a £3 voucher for a drink!"
