A SALE church is throwing open its doors as part of National Heritage Day.

St Paul's, on Springfield Road, will hold its open day on September 13, from12pm.

There will be Victorian afternoon teas in the church hall throughout the day, as well as a barbecue on the south lawn and strawberries and cream from noon until 3pm.

There will be music from harpist, Sarah Paterson, Cadishead Brass Band and the Scout and Guide Band.

The newly formed St. Paul’s Community Choir will also be making an appearance and singing requests.

Professional storyteller, Helen Stewart, will be spinning yarns and activities for children will run throughout the day.

Other highlights of the day will include guided tours of the church tower and belfry and, for those who enjoy family history, there will be a unique opportunity to view the Parish Registers.
