THE Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham is putting up the bunting in readiness for its community fun day this weekend, the latest celebration in its 40th anniversary year.

The free fun day will take place on Sunday, August 31 from 11am to 3pm, when local youngsters and their families are expected to flock to the hotel to take part in the fun, including a special performance from a One Direction tribute band.

The fun day will take over the hotel and its grounds for one day only, transforming it into a one stop entertainment shop for the whole family with more than 30 stalls and activities including carousel, bungee, trampolines, crafts, beer tent, hog roast and a face painter.

General manager Paul Hindley said: “We are delighted with the response from local groups and traders who are running stalls on the day, and know there is already a lot of excitement for what promises to be a fantastic performance from our One Direction tribute act.

This event is all about bringing together the local community, and raising money for local charity Forever Manchester which invests money in neighbourhoods across Greater Manchester, supporting grass roots community activity.”

Highlights of activity inside and outside the hotel include a mini putting green from Altrincham Golf Club, crepes, Thai food, homemade jewellery, cupcake decorating and a tombola.

Sophie Bell, from Forever Manchester, added: “Forever Manchester has supported community and voluntary groups in the local area for the past 25 years and we are delighted to be involved in what promises to be a fantastic day out.”
