A CHARITY which supports women in Trafford held an event to raise money.

Women of all ages came together for tea and cake in aid of Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention.

More than £500 was raised for the charity, which is the UK’s only organisation entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer.

Up to 50 people attended the event

which offered a topsy turvy twist on a traditional afternoon tea party, including sharing cocktails.

Suzanna Dhawan, events co-ordinator and corporate fundraiser at Genesis said: “The tea party was a great success and we’re thrilled to have raised such vital funds for Genesis.

“Everyone really got into the spirit and it was a lovely way to thank our long-standing supporters, as well as welcome some new faces.

“This money will go towards funding important research into how Genesis can work towards creating a future free from breast cancer.”

Following its success, it is now hoped that the tea party will become an annual event.
