THE MP for Stretford and Urmston formally marked the commencement of construction on a new Urmston assisted living development.

Kate Green MP attended the ground breaking ceremony of McCarthy and Stone's new independent retirement apartments, located on Crofts Bank Road, which have been designed specifically to help those aged over 70 make the most of later life.

Ms Green said: “I was delighted to attend the groundbreaking of this exciting development in Urmston.

"There is a growing need for such purpose built accommodation as we are all living longer but want to maintain our independent lifestyles."

Fiona Brooks, regional sales and marketing director for McCarthy and Stone, added: “We’re really pleased to have been able to welcome Ms Green to our Urmston site and were excited by her positive response to our approach to delivering lifestyles tailored to meet the needs of the over 70s.”
