THE Rotary Club of Altrincham was recently asked by radio DJ Chris Evans to help with CARFEST North 2014 and make it a joint venture between Rotary Clubs and Children in Need to raise money for underprivileged children.
David Williams, a racing enthusiast and race chief marshaller from Altrincham Rotary Club, along with fellow Rotarians rose to the challenge.
The CARFEST was held at Oulton Park, Cheshire, and attracted many thousands of car enthusiasts.
Money raised by David and his team amounted to £22,000 by selling raffle tickets.
Prizes included cars and motorbikes.
David says he was overwhelmed by the generosity of the fans and also it was great meeting Chris Evans who is also a car fanatic.
