A DAVYHULME church has been recognised with an eco award.
Christ Church was handed the Eco Congregation Award, an initiative through which churches worldwide are encouraged to improve their green awareness, making it one of only 10 other UK churches of the 230 taking part in the scheme to win three of the awards.
The plaque was presented to the church by Rt Rev David Walker, the Bishop of Manchester.
Christ Church's congregation has been working towards its third award for the past three years, with the project steered by the 'IDEA Group', closely supported by members of the congregation.
Projects have included the installation of double glazing, cavity wall insulation, a new boiler and loft insulation at the church's parish centre, development of fruit and vegetable plots and cookery courses extolling the virtue of reduce, reuse, recycle.
