A MAN has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act following an incident at Manchester Airport on Tuesday.
Following his arrest, the 47-year-old was assessed by medical staff and again by a mental health team.
He was subsequently sectioned to allow for a fuller assessment and appropriate treatment.
An RAF
Typhoon had to escort the Qatar Airways flight QR23, from Doha, into the airport after the pilot was handed a note about a possible device on board.
Manchester Airport was temporarily closed and some flights were diverted to Liverpool, but service was quickly returned to normal.
