CHILDREN at a Bowdon nursery were able to be firefighters for the morning when a crew from Altrincham Fire Station paid them a visit recently.

Lisa Bell, from the Mulberry Bush Preschool, said the fire service visit was particularly special, as it was just before the nursery closed doors for the final time after 10 years.

Lisa said: "The children and staff were most excited and have been learning about the role of a firefighter, linking in with 'people in the community'.

"The children were invited on board the engine and were shown all the equipment and how things work.

"They also got to spray the hose and listen to the sirens.

"Altrincham Fire Service have been visiting the preschool for 10 years and we have learnt a lot about the fire service.

"This was their last visit, so we would like to say a big thank you."
