A STRETFORD man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly pushed a woman into a fire in Urmston.
David Ogden, 46, of Norwich Road, is due to appear at Trafford Magistrates' Court today, Tuesday July 29.
Officers were called to a rural area close to Eeasbrook,in Urmston,shortly before 9.30am on July 26, following reports of a woman with extensive burns to her face and body.
The woman, 42, was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses.
Det Insp Carl Gilbert said: “This woman has suffered extremely serious burns and is fighting for her life in hospital.
"We are urging anyone who has any information about what happened on Saturday morning at the site on Eeasbrook in Urmston to contact us.
“If you saw the incident itself or have any information about it then please call us urgently.”
