A motorcyclist who died following a collision in Trafford Park has been named.

Jake Leibrick, aged 24, was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision on July 18.

Police were called to Westinghouse Road just after 11.05pm following reports of a collision between a yellow Yamaha motorcycle had collided with a Scania Articulated lorry.

Mr Leibrick, who was riding the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His pillion passenger, a 25-year-old man, suffered a head injury and remains in hospital in a critical condition.

PC Peter Cunningham, from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are in the early stages of our enquiries are trying to establish why Jake was in the Trafford Park area when the accident happened.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw him riding his bike in and around that area prior to the collision to contact the police with any information.”
