STRETFORD’S Hive proved a buzz of activity when crowds gathered to wish the popular community project a very happy first birthday in July.

The venue, based at Stretford Mall, offers dance classes, yoga, health/ and well being advice, job hunting, arts and crafts and computing.

Since it was opened a year ago, local people have enjoyed the range and scope of activities on offer.

The Hive was set up with key partners including Trafford Council, Trafford College, Gorse Hill Studios and enterprise volunteers SciLight at Blusci.

Trafford Council Leader, Cllr Sean Anstee, who joined the celebrations said: “Stretford Hive is a fantastic project which has gone from strength to strength over the last 12 months.

"It has established itself as a place where local people can go for information, help, support and inspirational creative ideas.

"Everything it stands for promotes healthy living, community spirit and helping with mental health."
