A TEENAGER from Timperley has had her long locks trimmed to help raise more than £200 for a cancer charity.

Nicole Davies, 13, is donating her long hair to The Little Princess Trust, for children who have lost their hair while having chemotherapy for cancer.

According to Nicole, wigs can cost up to £2,000 but the factory that makes them has an arrangement where they make donated human hair into a wig for free.

Nicole, a pupil at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls, decided on the donation and fundraising after a family friend died from leukaemia, aged 46.

Nicole's father and grandmother also died of cancer at a young age.

She said: " "I am glad that I'm able to help children with cancer feel like their treatment is less frightening and at the same time it has been good that we have been able to raise some money for Leukaemia Research.

"I did like having long hair but I'm going to try and grow it again and may be I might be able to donate another batch!"

"If anyone else out there would like to donate their long hair too, details of The Little Princess Trust are available on the internet."

Nicole has raised £225 with an extra £56.25 Gift Aid. Anyone who would like to sponsor her to reach her £300 target should go to justgiving.com/nicoledonatinghair.
