Roadworks hit rush hour traffic
DELAYS of up to an hour have frustrated motorists heading into Manchester this morning from Altrincham and Sale.
The delays are thought to have been caused by pipeworks, which has reduced the opposite side of the carriageway of the A56 Washway Road down to one lane in Sale, between the A6144 Harboro Way junction and the B5397 Dane Road junction.
Traffic jams continued along Chester Road into Stretford.
One driver complained: "This is rediculous. It took me 25 minutes to travel two miles."
