POLICE have released an Efit of a man grabbed a 15-year-old girl around the neck and attempted to rob her in Stretford.

The victim was walking along Chatsworth Road between 10.30pm and 10.45pm on June 13, when she noticed that a man was following her.

As she entered the train station at Humphrey Park, the man jumped on her from behind and put her in a headlock.

She tried to break free but he tightened his grip and tried to grab her phone and headphones.

The victim managed to shake him off and the man shoved her, before shouting abuse at her and running away.

The man is described as white, in his 20s, of medium build, clean shaven and has blonde curly hair.

He was wearing a dark hooded top and was carrying a blue Adidas bag with white writing on.

Police have now released an Efit of the offender.

Constable Jackie Donohue said: "This man targeted a young woman who was walking alone and, in an attempt to steal from her, he attacked her.

"It was a terrifying ordeal for the victim and she is understandably very shaken by what has happened.

"I would ask people to take a look at the Evo-fit and if they recognise the person, to contact us.

"I would also appeal to anyone who may feel they have been targeted in a similar way in the nearby area to phone police."
