IF you think St Martin’s Church choir only performs sacred music, you are mistaken.
Go along to the Ashton on Mersey church, on July 18 at 7pm for' Supper with the Choir' and you can hear them sing Cole Porter, Elvis Presley, the 2003 pop hit You Raise Me Up and many other songs.
The only religious numbers will be the Vicar of Dibley arrangement of The Lord is my Shepherd and a new version of Panis Angelicus composed by the late Peter McElhinney, a former choir master.
Church member, Penny Cain, will act as narrator giving entertaining stories and poems in between numbers.
Admission is £10 for the concert and hot supper or just £6 for the concert alone.
For tickets, telephone 0161 969 2805.
