Help raise much-needed funds for animals at Sale charity's summer fair
SALE animal charity the Society for Abandoned Animals is inviting members of the public and the community to an action-packed, fun-filled day of activities at its summer fair on Sunday July 13.
Families will be able to enjoy a host of attractions including bouncy castles, a mini dog show, face painting, craft stalls and circus skills.
There will also be a delicious barbeque and cakes on offer. Entrance to the event is priced at just £1 per adult and 50p per child.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the animals and tour the sanctuary, which is desperate to raise funds and find good homes for as many animals as possible.
Natasha Woest, sanctuary manager at The Society for Abandoned Animals says: “With a range of activities and stalls our summer fair will be a fantastic event for everyone in the community to enjoy, while getting involved with a local charity that is fundamental to the Sale and South Manchester area.
“Whether you’d like to attend the fair as a visitor or run your own stall, there’s so many ways you can get involved with our events to show support for your local animal charity.”
The sanctuary is planning a major extension and refurbishment this year, and is desperately looking for businesses and individuals to help fundraise for new facilities such as pens for cats.
The Sale-based charity has successfully rehomed more than 123 dogs, 1,058 cats and 341 rabbits over the past five years.
The charity is always on the lookout for volunteers too.
Natasha said: “Here at the animal shelter, we’re currently in real need of funds and volunteers to help with a range of tasks such as admin, accounts and maintenance.
"We’re also keen to reach out to families that would be interested in adopting one of our pets.
“We are therefore encouraging everybody interested to come along on the day to show their support.”
