AN Urmston care home has appointed a new manager.

Joanna Fryers, who is from Urmston herself, will now take responsibility for the 83-bedroom Manorhey, all its residents and the 85-strong staff.

The 29-year-old is also tasked with ensuring the home is compliant with CQC regulations, including infection control.

Joanna joined Manorhey as a care assistant when it opened in 2010, progressing to deputy manager and acting registered manager during the past four years.

“I have always wanted to work in the care sector and knew early on that managing a home was the job for me. With that in mind, I combined work with further education, gaining all the necessary qualifications,” said Joanna.

“Manorhey is a superb facility offering quality care and I firmly believe it is one of the best homes in Trafford – something I will strive to retain as registered manager.”
