THE latest national statistics show that Trafford’s overall primary and secondary school persistent absence figures are the lowest in the country.
The autumn 2013 absence tables published on June 4, 2014 also revealed that Trafford had the second lowest overall absences for primary and secondary schools in the entire country.
Executive Councillor Mike Cornes said: ”Trafford’s schools consistently achieve some of the country’s highest examination results and provide local students with the best possible educational environment for them to develop to their individual potential.
“It is only through consistent, regular attendance that this can be achieved. To ensure this, schools and the local authority work closely together to make sure strict policies are in place around absences.”
