THE company which owns Altrincham Market has added two key food operators to its ‘fantastic foodie line-up’.

Market Operations has commissioned Honest Crust and The Ginger Kid to trade within the market’s revamped Market House.

Honest Crust, which is run by owner and principle pizza chef Rich Carver and his brother-in-law Lee, have built up a strong following at the specialty Sunday markets and claim their wood-fired sourdough pizzas are ‘the best outside of Italy”.

And The Ginger Kid, aka Kevin White, is a chef with more than 25 years experience, including Michelin-starred restaurants.

His ‘perfect pastries’ and modern interpretations on traditional food have earned have seen his stalls grow in popularity at North West markets.

Both will trade under their own identities at Market House, which will be open seven days-a-week, with seating for 250 people.

Owner of Market Operations, Nick Johnson, said: “The idea is that Market House will bring some of the best independent food businesses together under one roof to eat in a relaxed ‘refectory’ environment with an emphasis on the very best quality in the coolest and least stuffy environment where everyone is welcome.

“We’re working with Altrincham Forward on the sensitive refurbishment of the listed market buildings, including putting down a reclaimed maple floor from Chelsea Barracks and installing up-cycled 1950’s vintage light fittings to create something that we hope will become both the heart of the community and will define a reputation for something new and unique - not just in Manchester but throughout the country.”
