TRAFFORD man Keith Corbett has revealed why he became a volunteer with Hearing Link, a hearing loss charity that is very close to his heart.

Keith, 59, from Sale volunteers with the charity as a Helpdesk Responder. His role is to answer email enquiries made to the charity’s national helpdesk by individuals and families seeking support and information to manage their hearing loss.

At the age of 25 Keith experienced profound hearing loss as a result of Meningitis. It left him devastated, but he soon discovered the charity Hearing Link and their helpful support.

Keith said: “This unique progamme helped re-build my confidence and the on-going support was second to none.”

So far he has used his own personal experiences to provide life-changing support to more than 100 people living with the challenges of hearing loss across the UK.
