ALTRINCHAM Grammar School for Girls has appointed Stephanie Gill as its new principal.

She will take up her new post in September, following the retirement of Mary Speakman and joins AGSG from West Kirby Grammar School.

Stephanie studied natural sciences at St John’s College Cambridge and later returned to Cambridge where she gained a PGCE in mathematics.

Stephanie Gill said: “I am honoured to be appointed as principal of Altrincham Grammar School for Girls, which is one of the best state schools in the country and the highest achieving in the North West. I am looking forward to working with the staff and pupils to continue with the excellent academic record and enviable pastoral care.”
