POLICE are hunting a pair of shoplifters who stole hundreds of pounds worth of clothes from an Altrincham shop.

On May 13, the couple stole £740 worth of clothing from as store on George Street, Altrincham.

The day before, the same people stole £600 worth of clothing from another branch of the same shop at Merseyway Precinct, Stockport.

In both cases, the man held a large foil lined bag open while the woman filled it with clothes.

PC Geoff Donley, said: “These two are very organised and commit their thefts in a very efficient way so as not to arouse suspicion from staff.

“They are in and out in a matter of moments with the sole intention of stealing as many clothes as possible.

“It is extremely possible they will continue to try and commit these offences so I would urge business premises to be vigilant.

“I also want anyone who can help me identify them to call me in complete confidence.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 7530, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
