Former Timperley off-licence to become takeaway

First published in News

A FORMER Timperley off-licence is to become a takeaway, following a rubber stamp by planning chiefs.

The vacant unit on Riddings Road, which was formerly Booze Zone Plus, will now become a restaurant and takeaway, which will be open between 11am and 11pm Monday to Friday and 11am and 12am on Saturdays and Sundays.

Seven letters of objection were submitted to Trafford Council’s planning committee on the grounds of noise, increased traffic, parking problems and litter.

Residents also argued that as there are already two ‘excellent’ takeaways on Riddings Road, another would be ‘overkill’.

However, Trafford’s planning committee voted unanimously in favour of the application.

I can never understand people who knowingly purchase properties near shops/schools/pubs and so on then do nothing but complain about noise/traffic/litter and so on. I don't want to be rude to anyone, but you knew these shops where there when you choose, yes choose, not forced, but choose to live next to them. If you bought a nice house in a quiet back road and then they starting building a parade of shops along it, then yes I agree you have every right to complain, but not in this instance.
